The Seattle Woodturners are meeting on October 11th at the VFW in Redmond. Tom Henscheid will be the demonstrator.

The Cascade Woodturners in Portland, OR have will be meeting on October 18th at the Willamette Carpenters Training Center. This meeting will be the auction which raises funds to enable bringing in guest demonstrators.

The Strait Turners in Sequim will be meeting on October 30th. Ellen Winnie will be demonstrating mixed media using glass beads between turned beads & Koleosing (a Scandinavian carving technique).
The Olympic Peninsula Woodturners holding will be meeting on October 31st. Jim Leary will be demonstrating small musical instruments for children.
The Association of Woodturners of Great Britain (AWGB) recently held their 16th International Woodturning Seminar at the Yarnfield Park Training and Conference Centre. This month, our own David Best, will show us 4 different methods for turning hollow forms. Dave will hollow a large vessel in multiple steps using different systems for each layer as he goes deeper into the form. There are a lot of systems out there, and this will be a great chance for all of us to see how these different tools compare to each other, as well as seeing the advantages of each.
