What’s Happening at Other Chapters

The Northwest Woodturners in Beaverton, Oregon will be meeting on January 5th when they will be holding their annual tool swap meet.

The Inland Northwest Woodturners in Spokane Valley are meeting on January 5th. Doug Schroeder will be demonstrating pen turning.

The Southwest Idaho Woodturners Association in Boise, ID. will be meeting on January 10th. The program for the evening has not been announced. Also, the Christmas party has been rescheduled to January 11th.

The Seattle Woodturners are meeting on January 12th. Members of the Olympic Peninsula Woodturners will present “Fifty Nifty Shop Tips”. SPSW members may remember this presentation at our April, 2015 meeting.

The Willamette Valley Woodturners in Salem, Oregon will be meeting on January 12th. Nick Stagg will be demonstrating Lidded Boxes.

The Fraser Valley Woodturners Guild in Abbotsford, B.C., will be meeting on January 12th. The program for the evening has not been announced.

The Mid Columbia Woodturners will be meeting on January 14th. The program for the day has not been announced.

The Northwest Washington Woodturners in Mt. Vernon will be meeting on January 19th. The program for the evening has not been announced.

The Cascade Woodturners Association in Portland, OR, will be meeting on January 19th. CWA member Russ Coker, recently published in the American Woodturner, will be the demonstrator.

The Olympic Peninsula Woodturners will be meeting on January 25th. Larry Miller will be demonstrating Long-stemmed Goblets.

The Greater Vancouver Woodturners Guild in Vancouver, B.C. will be meeting on January 25th. Brad Stave will be presenting on “Wonky Bowls”. His presentation will include turning madrone/arbutus, distorting and painting.

The Island Woodturners Guild on Vancouver Island is holding their next meeting on January 28th. Neil Bosdet will be talking about “Marketing Your Work”.

And a new Washington State chapter of the AAW, the Strait Turners in Sequim, WA are meeting on January 31st at the Gardiner Community Center. Dan Ackerman will be demonstrating how to turn a lidded bowl and will also give some sharpening tips.
