What’s Happening at Other Chapters

The Northwest Woodturners in Beaverton, Oregon are holding their annual picnic and auction on August 2nd.

The Fraser Valley Woodturners Guild in Abbotsford, B.C. are taking a break during July and August.

The Inland Northwest Woodturners in Spokane Valley may be meeting on August 7th. The program for the evening has not been announced.

The Olympic Peninsula Woodturners are having their annual summer potluck picnic on August 9th. They have lots of other great activities going on including a candlestick contest with prizes and a booth at the upcoming Kitsap County Fair.

The Southwest Idaho Woodturners in Boise, ID are holding their next meeting on August 12th with a demonstration of plywood turning.

The Seattle Woodturners are meeting on August 14th. A.J. Mearns will be demonstrating bowl coring.

The Willamette Valley Woodturners in Salem, Oregon will be meeting on August 14th. Ron Gerton will be demonstrating Strobe Light Turning.

The Northwest Washington Woodturners in Mt. Vernon are having their annual Summertime Potluck Picnic on August 16th. There will also be a tool sale and silent auction.

The Cascade Woodturners in Portland, OR are meeting on August 21st at a temporary location at the Carpenter Center. Kathleen Duncan, current nominee to the AAW Board of Directors, will be presenting “a smorgasbord of small projects”. There will also be a tool swap.

The Woodturners of Olympia are holding a turn and learn session at their August 22nd meeting.

Welcome to the Southwest Washington Woodturners, a new AAW chapter in Vancouver. The club will be meeting on August 27th. The program includes a demonstration by Norm Paulk.

The Greater Vancouver Woodturners Guild in Vancouver, B.C. are also off July and August and will meet next on September 24th.

The Island Woodturners Guild on Vancouver Island are taking July and August off and have the next meeting scheduled for September 27th.
