This will be a joint meeting, and members of both the South Puget Sound Woodturners and the Woodturners of Olympia will be participating.  There is plenty of room for each of you to join us, and we really hope you will log in and enjoy this benefit of your membership in the group.

For those of you that may be unsure about how to use Zoom, or would just like to practice your Zoom skills before the meeting, Cindy will host a practice session on Wednesday the 17^th of June.  I assure you that although Zoom may be something new, it is very easy to use.  Please join us by clicking the link above on Wednesday June 17^th.  We will open the session at about 6:45 PDT for some social time until the actual practice session will start at 7:00.  You will get to see and meet Cindy, use Zoom, and at the same time ensure everything is in place for you to get logged in for the actual demo Thursday night.

During the practice session, you will see how to log into the meeting, how we use our co-hosts to keep control of the meeting, how to mute or unmute your microphone, and a couple of ways that you can pose a real-time question to the demonstrator during the demo.  You can ask us any questions you might have about Zoom during this practice session and we will do our best to answer them.

You will need to download the Zoom Meetings app on the device you will use to participate before actually joining the meeting. You can either just click on the link above and it will take you to the Zoom site, or you can log into https://zoom.us/signin to download the app. In either case, just follow the screen prompts to download the program to your device.  Just join at the most basic free level.  The device you will use to fully participate in the demo can be a desktop, laptop, tablet computer, or smartphone.  It is best if it has a camera, microphone and speaker, so you can both see and hear.  You can even use a regular telephone to join the meeting, if all you want is the audio,  but video and audio capability allow you to enjoy the full experience.

Note: After you have initially downloaded Zoom, if you see that an update is available, please update your program.  Like most software vendors, Zoom is constantly monitoring for vulnerabilities, and these updates are meant to patch those making Zoom safer and more enjoyable for all of us.
